The Sigma Tau Delta 2021 Virtual Convention has a lot to offer from a diverse collection of Roundtable Presentations to our two engaging Featured Speakers, Karen Auvinen and Michael Branch, to a series of regional networking sessions. Student Leadership is excited to contribute two social events to this year’s convention schedule.
On Thursday evening the Student Leaders will kick off convention with a Welcome Social. Convention Co-Chairs Glen Brewster and Lexey Bartlett will briefly greet attendees and welcome them to our first-ever virtual convention before attendees are moved to breakout rooms for games and ice-breakers. Come kick off the convention with us and learn how to stay connected and engaged throughout the event.
Student Leadership is excited to announce Friday’s social event: a virtual literary-themed, pub-style trivia night! Participants can either gather up some chapter members and come with pre-arranged teams of up to 6 players or attend alone with the intent to make some new friends by playing on a randomly-generated team of 6. Pre-arranged teams should create a team name before the start of the event. After joining the session, attendees who already have a team will be prompted to edit their Zoom name to reflect their trivia team name, allowing them to be placed in breakout rooms with their teammates, after which, single players will be randomly sorted breakout rooms to meet their new team and create a team name. Play will then progress through four rounds and four bonus rounds, each focused on a specific theme such as literary places, film adaptations, famous lines from literature, and much more. If necessary, a tie-breaking round will be played to announce a winning team, which will be awarded an amazing prize!
