Research in the Round — Proposal
What Research in the Round (RITR) is and how to propose a topic as a Table Host. RITR is a 90-minute structured conversation hosted at small tables around a research question.
What RITR Is
Research in the Round is a small-group conversation format. A Table Host opens with a research question they’re actively working on, frames the conversation, and facilitates a 90-minute discussion among 6–10 attendees who self-select into the table at the start of the session.
Who Should Propose
Students with an in-progress research project — anything from a senior thesis to a chapter of a longer creative work — who would benefit from a focused conversation with peers, faculty mentors, and visiting scholars.
