Decisions for the Sigma Tau Delta 2025 Convention have been made, and everyone who submitted a proposal or paper should have received an email from 2025 Convention ([email protected]). Thank you to all of those who submitted, and we again congratulate those who were invited to present!
Whether your submission was accepted, you are considering submitting for the second deadline for Research in the Round (see below), or you hope to get involved in other ways, keep reading!
We also suggest you now reach out to your Chapter Advisor(s), chapter members, department chair, or any other campus organization or administrator who might have the resources to help you secure any institutional funding.
Next Steps for Accepted Submissions
The following steps must be completed by January 17 for anyone intending to accept our invitation to present:
- Log into your ExOrdo account to accept your acceptance or notify us that you will not be able to attend. This “acceptance of your acceptance” is crucial as we begin to sort papers into topic-based sessions for the program. The form takes only a few moments of your time. RSVP your submission.
- Register for Convention, which will ensure that your paper will be included in the program. Convention Presenter Registration will be open January 6 – 17, 2025.
Additional Ways to Participate at the 2025 Convention
Whether your work or proposal was accepted for presentation or you are looking for other ways to be included in the program, we have numerous additional opportunities for you to participate!
Session Chairs
Chairs play a major role in facilitating each paper session, introducing the session topic, the presenters, and the titles of their individual papers. This important job at convention also ensures your name appears in the program as a participant. Visit the Chairs webpage to learn more about what serving as a session Chair looks like and to volunteer as a Chair.
We also are searching for faculty Moderators, so your Advisor or other faculty members at your college can get involved. Information about this important role, as well as the sign-up form, is available on the Moderators webpage.
Research in the Round
The second submission round of Research in the Round opened on December 6 and continues through Monday, January 6, 2025. We invite you to submit a topic and two questions for brief but engaging conversations about literary, theoretical, pedagogical, or writing topics. Participants will circulate from table to table in a timed, speed-style format, discussing the Table Host’s questions or formulating their own about the same topic.
Priority will be given to students who are not presenting other works or participating on Roundtables. To submit a proposal to participate as a Table Host, login to the Membership Verification Portal.
